In Retirement

Tiring of the grind of big-time wrestling, Frank toured for a while with the Sells-Floto circus, first with former boxing champion James Jeffries then with current boxing champion Jess Willard, who had beaten Jack Johnson for the title. Frank would pay $250.00 to any man who could last fifteen minutes with him without getting pinned or submitting. Frank never had to pay off once. But he again grew weary of the travel, and returned to his fine home in Humboldt. Some time in 1916, he began showing signs of an illness which would eventually force him to his bed and ultimately take his life.
